The North Sydney Bears picked up a win at North Sydney Park, knocking off the Parramatta Giants, 6-3. Starting pitcher Robbie Fountain was a big reason why. The Giants, at 4-15, have stumbled out of the gate.
The Bears got an important contribution from second baseman Joey Guildford, who in the bottom of the second punched a 1-0 cutter into left for a 2-run double. It was his 4th double of the season and put the Bears ahead, 4-0.
"Robbie is tough when he's hitting his spots," said North Sydney manager Adam Brisske.
