The Carlton Blues got a good effort from starter Mark Finlay in defeating the Cronulla Sharks at Princes Park. The final score was 5-2. The win boosted Carlton to 45-36.

Ben Brennan was the walk-off hero for Carlton. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Blues left fielder hit a dramatic 3-run home run to send the teams home.

"This game had its share of tense moments," Brennan said, postgame.
