Bombers Knock Off Canberra, 5-1
|
Newcastle Bombers starter Herb Bartholomew hurled his team past the Canberra Raiders, 5-1. The 4th-place Bombers have won 4 straight games.
Adrian Stewart, the 30-year old second baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Stewart contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the third inning to put Newcastle up, 1-0.
"Herb is tough when he's hitting his spots," said Newcastle manager Silvio Dante.
