Palethorpe Hits 2 home runs in Swans Win
|
The South Melbourne Swans trumped the Newcastle Bombers, 5-2, at Albert Park Baseball Grounds. South Melbourne first baseman Kole Palethorpe was terrific. He went 2-2 with 2 home runs and 2 walks. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. The second-place Swans now have a 5-game winning streak.
With South Melbourne leading 2-1 in the bottom of the third, Palethorpe hit a slider from Jason Dymock for a 3-run home run. It was his 18th home run of the season and put the Swans ahead, 5-1.
"Being able to contribute to a win is always a great feeling," Palethorpe told the South Melbourne News.
