Roosters Win Streak Reaches 7

The East Sydney Roosters got a magnificent performance from pitcher Orville Coles, who muffled the St. George offense en route to a tight 3-1 Roosters win at Centennial Park. Coles, the winner, moves to 8-9. He threw 8 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 1 and giving up 1 walk. Erich Morrall notched his 30th save in 34 chances.
Joel Nicholson aided the East Sydney cause with a run-scoring double in the bottom of the seventh. For the game, the shortstop was 1-2 with a double and a walk.
"Orville was Orville," said Roosters manager Chris Smith. "We know what we'll get whenever he takes the mound."
This win makes it 7 in a row for East Sydney.
