Roosters Upend Giants, 4-3
|
The East Sydney Roosters turned back the Parramatta Giants, 4-3, at Paramatta Fields. Cristian Trewhella, in particular, had a fine performance. He went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2. East Sydney reliever John Gripton picked up the win, upping his record to 5-3. Frank Selby absorbed the loss. The Roosters bumped their record to 64-44 with this win.
East Sydney used a clutch hit from Cec Chaundler to get the win. The catcher drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Roosters ahead, 3-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We'll enjoy this win for now, but it's just one," Trewhella told local reporters. "We've got to keep it going."
