Penrith Gets 6-4 Win Against Giants
|
Penrith took on Parramatta in front of a lively crowd.
The performance of Mark Ruzic proved critical in helping Penrith beat Parramatta, 6-4. The Panthers third baseman went 2 for 4 with a home run and a triple, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Michael Hosking got the win, improving to 11-8. He held the Giants to 4 runs on 6 hits over 7 innings, while striking out 3 and walking 2. Matthew Ince recorded the save. In save chances, he's now 31 for 35.
Penrith grabbed the momentum in the top of the fifth, when Ruzic, who finished 5th in the WL in doubles with 41 in 2014, hit a 3-run home run. His 13th home run of the season put the Panthers out in front, 6-3.
"Nice win for us," said Ruzic. "Now we'll go after the next one."
The win makes Penrith 60-58.
