Essendon Knights starter Bruno Hall was in the groove. He led his team to a win over the Melbourne Demons, 2-1. The Knights bumped their record to 75-54 with this latest triumph.

Essendon catcher Brad Rogerson contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a fastball into left field for a run-scoring single. It was his 87th hit of the season and put the Knights ahead, 2-1.

"Bruno did a tremendous job," said Essendon manager Phorgotten Son.
