Demons Absorb 6-2 Loss at Princes Park
The first-place Carlton Blues took on the Melbourne Demons in front of a spirited crowd.

A 3-RBI performance from shortstop Hau Kapena, who is tied for 3rd in the NL in bases on balls with 16, led the Carlton Blues to a win over the Melbourne Demons, 6-2. Picking up the win was Bob Kent. He went 7 innings, allowing 1 run on 5 hits. The right--hander struck out 2 and walked 3.

With Carlton leading 1-0 in the bottom of the third, Kapena hit a fastball from Decker Cartmell for a 3-run home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Blues ahead, 4-0.

Kapena called the win "a lesson in teamwork."

Carlton is now 19-9, 3 games up in the National League.
