Parramatta Giants starter Cedric Yandell kept the St. George Dragons hitters in check, leading his team to a comfortable 6-2 win. Frank Selby, now 1-1, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 2 and walking 1. Parramatta is now riding a 4-game win streak.

Had Jace Whitlock not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Whitlock hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Giants.

"It was our day today," Whitlock told the Parramatta Gazette. "But we've got to keep our nose to the grindstone."
