Roosters Take Nail-Biter Over Sea Eagles
|
The East Sydney Roosters had to overcome a fine effort from Manly-Warringah pitcher Ken Russell to grab a narrow 4-2 win at Centennial Park. Russell went 8 innings and allowed 2 runs. East Sydney now has a 3-game win streak.
East Sydney won the game in the bottom of the tenth inning. With two outs and Greg Sandall on the mound for Manly-Warringah, center fielder Irving Dorset hit a dramatic 2-run home run, bringing Roosters fans to their feet.
"This place was rocking at the end," Dorset said.
