Suspensions Handed Out for Bench-Clearing Brawl Wednesday, December 7th, 1983 Bertrand Brinkler of the South Sydney Rabbitohs and Clint Trindall of the St. George Dragons will be on the sidelines for a few days. They have been suspended for 3 and 6 games respectively by the league office for causing the bench-emptying free-for-all at the recent Rabbitohs-Dragons game at Redfern Oval. Neither player had any comment about the suspensions. Both clubs told BNN Brinkler and Trindall will begin serving them soon. In his 1983 season totals, Brinkler has no home runs, .295 BA, .348 OBP, 3 RBIs and 7 runs scored. On the season Trindall has compiled a 3-4 mark with a 5.58 ERA in 13 starts. In pitching 71 innings he has 56 strikeouts and 35 walks while limiting the opposition to a .281 batting average. |
