At the young age of only 24, Karson Simmonds has been named the Youth League Reliever of the Year Award winner for 2022.

The future appears bright for the Narrabeen Waves relief ace, who captured the award with 3 saves in 28 relief appearances, 63 strikeouts in 50.1 innings and a record of 1-3 to go with his 1.61 ERA.

He received 12 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Bill Heugh of the Hurstville Sluggers finished second in voting, while Ronald Blunsden of the Marrickville Brawlers finished third.
