Leckenby's Hit Streak Reaches 20 Games Monday, May 30th , 2022 Marvin Leckenby's consecutive-game hitting streak has now climbed to 20 games. The Hawthorn first baseman smacked 2 hits against the Preston Eagles in today's game at Preston Park, but he expressed mixed emotions about the streak after watching the Hawks drop the game, 5-1. "I feel good about the streak, but don't feel good when we lose," he told reporters. "I'd love to get a hit as well as a win next time so I can celebrate properly." Marvin Leckenby hit a solo-shot off Sean Pickhills in the 2nd, grounded out in the 4th, grounded out in the 6th and doubled in the 9th. Leckenby is batting .346 this year with 6 home runs, 24 RBIs and 31 runs scored. He has 54 hits in 156 at-bats. |
