Maverick Doig Hurt, Will Miss Rest of Year Saturday, June 18th , 2022 The doctors have spoken and Maverick Doig of the Richmond Tigers didn't like what he heard. The 25-year-old third baseman is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Doig sustained his season-ending injury during the Footscray Bulldogs game yesterday at The Pound. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while running the bases. Today the Richmond medical staff reported Doig had a torn posterior cruciate ligament and would be absent from the lineup for at least 7 months. Thus far in 2022 Doig is hitting .297 with 5 home runs, 21 RBIs, 37 runs scored and has compiled a .418 OBP. |
