Wellington Injured Making Household Repairs

Newcastle right fielder Darby Wellington will miss up to a week of action after suffering minor injuries to his hand while making household repairs. "I never was much of a handyman," joked Wellington. Team medical personnel have indicated that Wellington has a hand contusion and a bruised thumb.

Manly-Warringah's Sandall Down with Injury

When Greg Sandall was hurt against the Cronulla Sharks, the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles were hopeful that the injury was not serious. However, it proved to be more severe than first thought. The 36-year-old reliever suffered shoulder inflammation throwing a pitch in yesterday's game. Team doctors told BNN today that Sandall would miss 4 months of the season.
For the year, Sandall has collected 1 save in 32 relief appearances. He has also rung up 23 strikeouts and 13 walks in 30.1 innings while registering a 1.48 ERA and a 3-2 won-lost mark.

Sellick Slams 5 Hits for Geelong

Brian Sellick was the King of Swing today at Kardinia Park today in the 11-7 Geelong Cats win over the South Melbourne Swans. The Geelong right fielder stepped into the batter's box 5 times against South Melbourne and delivered 5 hits. It was a sensational game for him.
"Unbelievable feeling," he told the press. "It felt good. 5-for-5 isn't bad for your batting average either."
Brian Sellick singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and singled in the 7th.
This season Sellick is batting .264 with 3 home runs.
