Aceves Goes on Rampage Against Rays
|
It was a high-five day for Ezequiel Aceves, at least for a while.
The Kingsport center fielder got plenty of them from his teammates when he reached the five-hit milestone during today's game against the Princeton Rays, but they were in short supply at the end, as Princeton won the game, 1-0. Aceves finished with an impressive 6-for-7 line, but the Mets couldn't hold off the Rays.
"Ezequiel was hitting everything," said Mets manager . "It's too bad the other guys couldn't rise to the occasion."
Ezequiel Aceves singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th, singled in the 11th, grounded out in the 13th and singled in the 15th.
This season, Aceves has hit 8 home runs and posted a .251 batting average.
