Diamond Cats Prevail, as Division Series Goes to the Wire
The San Diego HS Diamond Cats were paced by a strong offensive output from Jon Holmes as they downed the Santa Ana HS Bruins 3-2 to win the Division Series.

San Diego HS won the final game by a score of 7-3 at Field of the Diamond Cats to send themselves off to the League Championship Series.

"I wasn't so much focused on putting up big offensive numbers as I was about ensuring we won the games. So it's mission accomplished there," said first baseman Holmes, who was named MVP.

For the series, the MVP hit .294 with a .400 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 4 RBI and scored 6 runs.

The San Diego HS Diamond Cats will play against the Nashville HS Defenders in the next round. Nashville HS won their series against the Minneapolis HS Speed Devils 3 games to 1. The League Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Division Series finishes.
