Hudson Valley Sweeps into the Round 2
|
With a 6-1 win to wrap up the series at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium, the Hudson Valley Renegades have eliminated the Tri-City ValleyCats in the Round 1 and move on to the Round 2.
Hudson Valley controlled the series from the outset and won it in a 3-0 sweep.
Johnny Yount led the charge offensively for the victors, winning series MVP honors. He posted a .538 batting average, along with a .600 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, drove in 6 RBI and scored 7 runs.
"We're not done yet," the MVP said. "There is still a lot to accomplish."
The Hudson Valley Renegades don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Auburn Doubledays - Batavia Muckdogs series. That series is tied at 1 game each. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
