Lehigh Valley Takes Round 1 in Deciding Game
|
Depending on your loyalties, the Round 1 was either thrilling or heartbreaking.
The series went down to its final game, with the Lehigh Valley IronPigs and the Indianapolis Indians giving their fans plenty of drama. In the end, the IronPigs came out on top, winning 3-0 at Victory Field today to take the series 3-2.
"We're lucky to be going into the Round 2," said Lehigh Valley pitcher Mike Wilcox. "If all the series are like this, it'll definitely be an entertaining postseason."
Wilcox earned series MVP honors, hitting for a .381 average, with 2 home runs, 5 RBI and 4 runs scored.
The Lehigh Valley IronPigs will play against the Charlotte Knights in the next round. Charlotte won their series against the Pawtucket Red Sox 3 games to 0. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
