Las Vegas Scorpions starter Ernesto Aponte turned in a sparkling performance against the Carolina Swamp Foxes, leading his team to a 3-2 win. The winner was Aponte. He threw 7.0 innings allowing 2 runs. The loser was Rodolfo Genovas. Randy Engel earned the save for Las Vegas, his 23rd.

Las Vegas needed the clutch hitting of Jonathan Broussard to seal the deal. The second baseman swatted a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Scorpions on top, 3-2. For the game, Broussard had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
