Late Rally Earns Vancouver 6-4 Win
|
The Vancouver Rockies cut down the Seattle Mariners by the score of 6-4, with the largest share of the credit going to right fielder Tristan Brower. Brower was 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Rockies. Sam Morris claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. His record stands at 3-2. Ed Scaggs recorded the save for Vancouver, his 28th of the season.
The game was all tied up in the top of the ninth, until Brower delivered big-time for Vancouver, stroking a dramatic run-scoring single off Joe Nokes. The game-changing hit put the Rockies on top, 5-4.
Vancouver manager Matt Hill was pleased with the team's effort. "It was just a good, gutsy performance by everybody," he said.
Vancouver is now 80-51, 11 games up in the National League West Division.
