Golden State Wins, 3-1, in 12 Innings
|
The Golden State Grizzlies locked up a win at Intel Ballpark, knocking off the Seattle Mariners, 3-1. On the mound for Golden State was right-hander Ben Roby. He played a major role in the triumph. The win went to Nate Hawks in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Damani Degrate took the loss. Golden State, now 69-84, holds down 4th place in the American League West Division.
The decisive blow was delivered by Martino Saens in the bottom of the 12th when he hit a 2-run home run off 22-year old left-handed pitcher Damani Degrate to win the game for Golden State. The home crowd went nuts.
"When I go out there," said Roby, "the last thing I want to do is let my teammates down."
