Dawson Goes Hitless, Streak Stopped at 22
Monday, April 14th , 2053
El Paso HS first baseman Chris Dawson came into today's game against the Denver HS Bayhawks on a hot streak. He left on a cold one.

The Bayhawks did their jobs well, beating the El Paso HS Steelhounds, 6-5, and holding Dawson hitless to snap his 22-game hitting streak. The 16-year-old first baseman had a few words to say after finishing 0-for-4, telling reporters only that he "came up short."

"What Chris did was exciting and quite an achievement," said Steelhounds manager . "It's tough enough to get one hit in this league, much less go 22 games in a row. I'm even more proud of the way he handled the press coverage. He never let the frenzy get to him or affect his play."

Currently Dawson is batting .390 with 62 hits and 12 home runs. He has knocked in 44 runs and scored 44 times.
