2053 SL1 Pitcher of the Year Award Announced Thursday, May 29th , 2053 The Conference 1 made the official announcement today. The 2053 Conference 1 Pitcher of the Year Award has gone to Sean Cooper of Denver HS. He had a superlative season, chalking up a 1-0 won-lost mark with an impressive 1.57 ERA. Cooper logged 7 starts, threw 34.1 innings, yielded 27 hits, struck out 50 and held the opposition to a .216 batting average. He received 19 first place votes out of a possible 36. Ed Morgan of the Atlanta HS Cubs finished second in voting with 17 first place votes, while Jim Machamer of the Garland HS Spirit finished third.
