Caffrey Goes 5-for-6 Against Omaha College Wednesday, April 16th , 2053 Even as a kid, Jeff Caffrey said his coaches told him the key to hitting was making contact, and letting everything else flow from there. At Mohawks Ballpark, Caffrey showed how well he learned that lesson. The 20-year-old left fielder had 5 hits in 6 at-bats for the Austin College Snake Eyes, helping his team knock off the Omaha College Mohawks by a score of 24-4. "They always said, just keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing, make contact and you never know what will happen," he said. "That's all I did." Jeff Caffrey singled in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 2nd, doubled in the 3rd, walked in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 6th, singled in the 6th and struck out in the 8th. Caffrey is currently batting .331 with 12 home runs and 40 RBIs. |
