Lugnuts Move on to Division Series Thursday, May 1st , 2053 The Detroit College Lugnuts proved to be too much to handle for the Omaha College Mohawks in the Wildcard Series, and a sweep was the end result. Detroit College punched its ticket to the Division Series on the strength of a 8-5 win in the deciding game, which wrapped up the series 3-0. Detroit College left fielder Bobby Dunn, named series MVP, was instrumental in the sweep, as he mashed Omaha College pitching to the tune of a .455 average, with a .571 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 6 RBI and scored 3 runs. The Detroit College Lugnuts don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Houston College Hawks - Santa Clarita College Fisher Cats series. Houston College leads the series 2 games to 1. The Division Series schedule will be announced after the Wildcard Series finishes. |
