Fightin Phils Zamora Smacks 5 Hits Tuesday, August 12th , 2053 The Reading Fightin Phils stopped the Hartford Yard Goats by a score of 10-1 at FirstEnergy Stadium, with the lion's share of the credit going to first baseman Luis Zamora. The 24-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits. "Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Zamora said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard." Zamora did just that in his 5 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Yard Goats. "Not much that I can say," offered Hartford manager . "He just hammered the heck out of us." Luis Zamora hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and singled in the 8th. For the year, Zamora is hitting .256 with 9 home runs. His stats include 41 runs batted in and 37 runs scored. |
