The first-place Philadelphia Hornets took on the Carolina Seawolves in front of a spirited crowd.

The Philadelphia Hornets overcame a good performance by Carolina catcher Dewitt Oglethorpe to knock off Carolina, 7-4, at The Hornets Nest. Oglethorpe went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times. Picking up the save was Anthony White, his 15th.

The Hornets got a big at-bat from catcher Ian Farmer. For the game, Farmer went 1-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 7th home run of the season gave Philadelphia a 5-3 lead.

"It's the best feeling when you come through for your teammates," said Farmer.

The Hornets have an impressive 36-19 record.
