Hoffe Lifts Diamond Scorchers to 7-4 Win
|
Though the conditions were not ideal, the Arizona Diamond Scorchers and Philadelphia Hornets came back from a rain delay to finish their game.
The Arizona Diamond Scorchers topped the Philadelphia Hornets by a score of 7-4. Leading the way was first baseman Rick Hoffe. Hoffe was 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Diamond Scorchers. Gabriel Maldonado earned save number 3 this season.
With Arizona leading 4-1 in the top of the sixth, Hoffe hit a curveball from Robby González for a bases-clearing double. It was his 3rd double of the season and put the Diamond Scorchers ahead, 7-1.
"Solid performance from our side," said Diamond Scorchers manager Lucas Ayoub.
The last-place Diamond Scorchers improved to 42-43.
