Critical Game 5 Goes to Host Black Bears, 9-4
The Appalachian Black Bears moved to within one game of the Cecil Cup, downing the visiting Toronto Beavers at The Bears Den by a score of 9-4. Black Bears catcher Nathan Little did some major damage. He was 2-4 with a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. The win gives the Black Bears a 3-2 advantage in the best-of-7 League Championship.

A key moment came with two out in the bottom of the second. That's when Little hit a fastball from Daniel Murphy for a 2-run double, putting Appalachian up, 2-0.

"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Little.

Game 6 is scheduled for Tuesday at The Lodge in Toronto.
