|
The Antelope Valley Raptors got a sterling performance from third baseman Phil Roberson, but the Norfolk Atlantics still prevailed, 6-4. Roberson went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Andy Mann earned the save, his 22nd in 26 tries. The second-place Atlantics bumped their record to 50-38.
Had Diego Rodríguez not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Rodríguez hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Atlantics.
Norfolk manager Zach Robinson was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys played hard," he said.
