Kumquats Collect 5-2 Win Over Pirates
|
Fort Lauderdale got a valiant performance from pitcher Rick De la Costa, but it wasn't enough to beat the Kissimmee Kumquats. Kissimmee won the game, 5-2. De la Costa threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. The winner was Kissimmee reliever Amaury Domingues, now 1-1. The loser was T.J. Hogeland. With the win, the Kumquats have a record of 13-12.
Kissimmee won the game in the bottom of the tenth inning. With one out and T.J. Hogeland on the mound for Fort Lauderdale, pinch hitter Connor Hare hit a dramatic 3-run home run, bringing Kumquats fans to their feet.
"We saved our best for last," said Hare.
