Yuma had no answer for Clearwater Threshers hurler Albert LaBrecque, who overwhelmed Gnomes hitters as the Threshers coasted to victory, 6-1. The second-place Threshers are now 20-14, the Gnomes 15-19.

Clearwater used the bat of Rodman Bryant to capture the win. The first baseman jacked a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Threshers ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a dandy.

"We did a lot of things right," said Bryant.
