Dolphins Prevail, 4-3, Over Kissimmee
|
The West Palm Beach Dolphins had to overcome a big game from Kissimmee designated hitter Allan Mullins to leave Tradition Field with a victory. And they did, winning 4-3. Mullins went 3 for 5 with 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs. The winner was West Palm Beach reliever Rod Corso, now 3-0. The loser was Damian Mandujano. Wade Redmond, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 9th save.
The Dolphins got an important contribution from third baseman Jason Crump, who in the bottom of the fourth punched a first pitch sinker into left for a 2-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Dolphins ahead, 4-1.
"We squandered some opportunities," said Kissimmee manager Ricky Michel.
The win puts the Dolphins at 30-18, while the Kumquats drop to 22-25.
