Witmer Dominant in Hialeah Win
|
In a tight game between the Hialeah Gales and the Florence Swordfish, pitcher Josh Witmer was terrific on the mound. The Hialeah right-hander helped his team to the 2-0 win. Hialeah is 36-25 and Florence, with the loss, 33-29.
The standout performance belonged to 17-year-old Witmer. With his baby face, he looked more like someone starting for a high school team than for the Gales. His performance, however, was nothing short of top-notch. The youngster dominated the Swordfish, striking out 6 and scattering 5 hits over 8 innings. Witmer is now 2-3 on the season.
"Runs were at a premium," said Hialeah manager Javier Flores.
