Texas Gets Riveting Walk-Off Win
People outside the ballpark no doubt heard the roar of the crowd as the winning run crossed the plate.

The Texas Rangers downed the Kansas City Royals, 8-7. The hitting star was left fielder Wade Briggs. Briggs went 3-4 with a double and 2 singles. He scored 2 times for the Rangers. Texas, now 42-94, holds down last place in the Western Region Central Division.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Texas first baseman Giosue Ceverini, facing Dominic Karnish, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Rangers the 8-7 win.

"Put a star next to this win," Ceverini said.
