Dundies Suffer 2-1 Setback
|
The Columbus Clippers topped the Scranton Dundies by the score of 2-1, with the largest share of the credit going to designated hitter Hanford Allen. Allen threw 5.1 innings allowing 1 runs for the Clippers. The 5th-place Clippers lifted their record to 19-20.
Early in the game, first baseman Willard Putnam had a 2-run home run for Columbus. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Clippers on top, 2-0.
"We'll take some time to unwind," said Putnam, "and then get after it again."
