|
The Wilkes-Barre Barons overcame a fine performance by Columbus right fielder Nikolas Williams to defeat the Clippers, 3-2, at Coca-Cola Park. Williams was 3 for 3 with a home run, a triple, and a walk. He scored 2 times. With the victory, the Barons record now stands at 45-46.
Maiker Baranda aided the Wilkes-Barre cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the first baseman drove in one run.
"Credit where credit is due," said Baranda, "this was a team win."
