Barons Lose Late, 6-4
|
The Scranton Dundies defeated the Birmingham Barons, 6-4, in 12 innings. Pudge Sifford led the way, going 4-for-4 for Scranton. Picking up the save was Cooper Maloney, his 12th. The third-place Dundies improved to 55-42.
Wyndham Giles, the 31-year old second baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Giles contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the 12th inning to put Scranton up, 4-3.
"Our team showed some gumption," said Sifford. "I like it."
