Oddballs Sting Norsemen, 3-1
|
The Ottawa Oddballs beat the Rochester Norsemen, 3-1, at Ottawa Ballpark. Starting pitcher Stan Harris was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. Harris went 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 1, and struck out 4. His record improves to 4-1. Roger Danton earned the save for Ottawa, his 25th of the year.
Ben McKim dealt the Norsemen a blow in the bottom of the fifth. Batting with a runner on 2nd and Ottawa leading 2-1, McKim hit a 0-1 fastball for a run-scoring single.
"They played a better game than we did," said Rochester skipper Jon Oliver.
The Oddballs saw their record improve to 63-35.
