Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Virginia Black Bears and Memphis Blues.

The Virginia Black Bears racked up a win at The Sparrow's Nest, bumping off the Memphis Blues, 6-4. José Luís De La Cruz, who started for Virginia, pitched effectively for his team. Virginia is now 64-86, Memphis 79-71.

Virginia took a 5-3 lead on Richard Chilekwu's 20th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Chilekwu hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Memphis pitcher Conrad Strong visibly frustrated.

"No one player deserves all the credit when you win," De La Cruz said. "And the same is true when you lose."
