Gehman Belts Bunch of Base Hits
It was high-fives all around for Eric Gehman at Comerica Park today.

He got them from his teammates and he got them at the plate during an outstanding hitting performance against the Detroit Tigers. Gehman smashed 5 hits in 5 at-bats on his monster day, leading his club to a 10-1 win.

"Eric was hitting everything," said Pirates manager Eddie Dolly. "It really was a special game for him."

In the opposing dugout, Tigers manager Hector Olvera told BNN beat writers that Gehman "ambushed" the club.

"Obviously we didn't have much success against him, but we'll have another chance," the skipper said. "Hopefully, Gehman oversleeps next time."

Eric Gehman singled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Jaden Bishop in the 8th and singled in the 9th.

This year Gehman is hitting .308, produced 8 RBIs and 2 home runs, scored 26 times and gotten on base at a .375 rate.
