The Honolulu ThunderSharks picked up a win at Southwest University park, knocking off the El Paso Chihuahuas, 3-2. On the mound for Honolulu was right-hander Javier Segura, who played a pivotal role in the win. Segura, now 9-4, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 6, walking 1, and allowing no runs. Jacob Jordan earned his 11th save in 12 chances.

Honolulu relied on the hitting of Ismael Garufo to pick up the win. The third baseman clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the ThunderSharks on top, 3-0. For the game, Garufo had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"It was just a matter of executing," said Honolulu manager Jimmy Anderson.

The ThunderSharks go to 60-49, putting them 4th in the Pacific Coast League Pacific Division.
