Baby Cakes Suffer 5-2 Loss to Wranglers
|
The Wranglers grabbed a win, 5-2, at Wranglers Ballpark, overcoming a fine effort from New Orleans pitcher Kurtis Thomas. Thomas went 6 innings and allowed 2 runs. Lucas Kniffin earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3 innings. He upped his record to 2-2. Rubens Jazayeri picked up the save for Oklahoma City, his 4th of the year.
Oklahoma City took a 5-2 lead on Noah Levy's 7th double of the season. The bases-clearing double, which Levy hit in the bottom of the seventh, left New Orleans pitcher Johnny Deese visibly frustrated.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Levy. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
The Wranglers go to 49-71, putting them 7th in the Pacific Coast League American Divison.
