Getting a good performance from shortstop Xisto Ruiz, the Evansville Triplets defeated the Winnipeg Goldeyes, 7-3. Ruiz went 4 for 4 with a double and 3 singles. He scored 2 times for the Triplets. Evansville now has a record of 71-61 with the win.
Evansville relied on the hitting of Rudy Russell to pick up the win. The catcher clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Triplets on top, 4-3. For the game, Russell had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
