Blue Jays Go Down to Defeat, 5-3
|
The Winston-Salem Dash overcame a fine performance by Dunedin left fielder Bobby Bise to defeat the Blue Jays, 5-3, at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium. Bise was 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 times. Stephen Taylor got the win, improving to 4-3. He pitched 5.2 innings, giving up 7 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 5 and walking 2. Getting the save was Tostig Thomas, his 24th.
Winston-Salem relied on the hitting of Patrick MacPherson to pick up the win. The center fielder ripped a run-scoring triple in the top of the seventh inning to put the Dash on top, 4-2. For the game, MacPherson had 1 triple and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
MacPherson said his team "executed a good game plan."
Winston-Salem is third in the East Coast League Mideast Division with a record of 75-57.
