New Hampshire Takes Regional Championship Series in Deciding Game
|
The New Hampshire Fisher Cats and Lincoln Bighorns didn't hold back anything in the Regional Championship Series, with each team pulling out all the stops in an effort to advance to the AA Championship Series.
New Hampshire won the final game by a score of 8-4 at ONEOK Field and that concluded the series, 4-3.
"Relief is the biggest thing," New Hampshire catcher Kristion Golson said when asked how he felt. "It's a grind both mentally and physically to have a long series like this, but our guys stuck with it and Lincoln deserves credit for the hard fight."
Golson paced the New Hampshire offence and earned MVP honors. For the series, he hit .345 with a .367 on-base percentage, 0 home runs, 5 RBI and scored 3 runs.
The AA Championship Series matchups and schedule will be announced after the Regional Championship Series finishes.
