The Indianapolis Ignition topped the Oakland Athletics, 6-0, with catcher Mark Brown playing a big role. Brown was 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Ignition in the win. With the win, the Ignition have a record of 38-34.
With Indianapolis leading 2-0 in the bottom of the first, Brown hit a changeup from Graham Gal for a 3-run home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Ignition ahead, 5-0.
"It's no secret that good defense follows around people who throw strikes," said Indianapolis manager Jose Gomez.
