Giants Wrest Win from Phillies, 3-2
|
The outcome was not decided until the very end at Oracle Park.
The San Francisco Giants had to overcome a good performance from Philadelphia pitcher Will Wachter to claim a 3-2 win at Oracle Park. Wachter went 6 innings and allowed no runs. San Francisco reliever Crispin Denham was credited with the win, to go to 5-0. Rodrigo Rodríguez took the loss for Philadelphia.
Nathanael Harrison was the walk-off hero for San Francisco. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Giants center fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"We fed off the energy of the crowd at the end," Harrison said.
The loss makes Philadelphia 32-49.
